The Experience
A safe space, where individuals can fully realize their gender through hair, makeup, or styling instruction or simply work with a stylist without having to concede every step of the way.
Who We Serve
Individuals identifying as transgender, non-binary, agender, etc. Simply, anyone whose struggles with gender identity, and may find difficulty entering gendered spaces like salons and barbershops.
Why It’s Important
It’s about cultivating confidence, and providing support to a community that has historically struggled with radical hate crimes, ignorance, and neglect from much of the world.

Past
On October 1st, 2019, at Boston’s ThreadTech, CEO & Founder Lou Rod debuted MLR’s pilot activation, T-Time. Inspired by the words Carmen Carrera, “it’s expensive to look this way,” Lou created his passion project to give the transgender community an avenue to best realize their own gender identities, especially those struggling financially.
Present
Lou and MLR’s Project Manager Natalie Turner are planning for the Pride 2020 season starting this June in Boston. With hope that the COVID-19 crisis will subside enough to allow for public gatherings, they are preparing to make the event much larger than the pilot, with more clientele, speakers, and programming.
Future
Our vision is to establish this experience in various locations nationwide. This project has the potential to positively impact the lives of many transgender people. Lou and Natalie hope to secure backing from a larger company that supports LGBTQ+ communities. The ultimate goal is to achieve visibility and representation for the transgender community.
